If you’ve been thinking about how to update your home or you’re simply interested in seeing what trends are popular, you’re in the right place. From colour designs to bathroom trends, 2021 is bringing in all sorts of absolutely gorgeous styles that We Buy Any House can’t wait to see in more homes!
- Stunning Sage green
A lovely colour that pairs impressively well with a pastel pink hue or even a gentle white, this sage shade is entering rooms all around the house. It works very well in bedrooms, especially with silver-toned accessories to really compliment, but our favourite room for these colour combos is in the kitchen.
Whether you want to include just a touch of this sage colour into your room or paint the walls completely, it’s a very versatile option and looks wonderful every time. It also looks stunning on the cupboards, adding a welcoming, warm feel to your kitchen while still being very modern.
- Boho
A style that has been growing over the last couple of years, we’re seeing bohemian wonders develop even more now, and we’re thrilled about it! It’s a lovely trend with Aztec inspirations, offering a perfect balance between bold, bright colours and the monochromatic classics; this is a trend that works flawlessly through the house.
It’s best expressed in accessories, like rugs, throws, or even cushion covers that you can easily add into your home. It also evolves beautifully into wall art, the ideal solution for breaking up big, white walls with some delicate canvases and framed photos.
- Marbled tiles
We think that the best part of this trend is how you can customise it to colours that work best for your home – the classic style is a white tile with grey marble veins running through it. It looks fantastic in bathrooms and kitchens alike, but if you’re looking for something with more colour, there are still plenty of options for you.
There are black tiles with white marble tints popping up in more and more homes, which combines to make a stunning effect and completely transforms any room it features in. For those who aren’t ready to move forward with black tiling but do want something different to the typical white choices, a golden addition in the marble effect is gorgeous; you can pick any colour you desire, but gold is one that really stands out. Changing the size of the tiles also offers an amazing effect that we didn’t expect – bigger tiles make a room look drastically bigger, ideal for those with less space to work with.
- Warm and earthy tones
Before now, all-white homes were the typical go-to, but now more of us are moving away from that standard colour palette and are wanting to explore something brighter. This warm colour trend stems from the lockdowns over the last year, and with most of us having to be at home more than we were before, deep shades of burnt orange and terracotta is a clever way of bringing some of the outside shades into our home.
These tones look stunning on their own, but when they’re paired with another deep colour, they create a fantastic contrast that no-one could possibly resist. The best combo that we’ve seen so far has got to be terracotta tones and deep, warm browns paired with a strong, intense blue – one we can’t wait to introduce in our own homes!
- Home Office Space
A feature that a huge amount of us have had to utilise at one point or another in the last year or so, a lot of businesses are still now working from home and planning to do so indefinitely. Because of this, space to work at home has become a necessity for a lot of people, meaning we’re seeing some stunning trends.
From chic or vintage tables to personalised desktop organisers that help to keep us productive and on schedule, home office trends are getting better and better. Spare rooms are being developed into a dedicated workspace, offering the key definition between workspace and home space that can blur into one and make things difficult.
- Self-care
Bathrooms see all sorts of new trends every year, but this one is by far the best and one we hope will stick around. Being able to take some time out to practice self-care and look after ourselves has become even more important than it was before, and having a relaxing space to do this in makes it much easier and more enjoyable.
New bathroom renovations are being heavily inspired by spas, with deep-set baths, comforting underfloor heating, and luxurious waterfall showers. Bamboo textures are also being seen regularly, pairing amazingly with black accessories, offering a relaxing and peaceful environment to relax in.
These are just a few of our favourite trends, but there are plenty more out there waiting to inspire you to redecorate! We already can’t wait to see what the rest of 2021 has to offer!
